Offer caps and payout rules: limits per affiliate and payouts by country or goal

Limit clicks or conversions per hour, day, week or month, and pay different amounts by affiliate, country or goal, with Rastro's caps and payout rules.

Updated on 21 Oct 2026

Advertisers often set limits ("no more than 200 leads a day") and pay differently by country or event. In Rastro you handle this with caps and payout rules, on each offer's page. Both are calculated automatically on every click and conversion; nothing has to be adjusted by hand.

Caps

A cap limits clicks or conversions for a period:

Period Resets
Hour At the start of each hour
Day At midnight (UTC)
Week On Monday (UTC)
Month On the 1st of the month (UTC)
Total Never: the limit for the offer's whole life

A cap can apply to the whole offer or to a single affiliate, so you can give your best affiliates more room than new ones.

When a cap is reached:

  • extra conversions are rejected, with the reason cap, and don't count for the affiliate;
  • extra clicks go to the "offer unavailable" page.

Rastro warns you before that happens: a health alert goes off when a conversion cap reaches 90%, by email and, if you use it, by Telegram.

The offer form also has simple daily and monthly caps. Use advanced caps when you need limits per hour or week, per affiliate, or on clicks.

Payout rules

The offer has a default payout (what the affiliate earns) and revenue (what the advertiser pays). Payout rules change these values for specific cases:

  • for an affiliate (a better deal for a top partner);
  • for a country (Tier 1 countries pay more);
  • for a goal (registration, first deposit, purchase…);
  • or for combinations, such as an affiliate in a given country.

Each conversion uses the most specific rule that applies: affiliate and country first, then affiliate, then country. Without a rule, the offer's values apply. A rule can change the payout only, or the revenue as well.

Goals

Goals are extra events on the same offer, each with its own payout. For example, an offer can pay €2 for a registration (goal=registration) and €40 for a first deposit (goal=first_deposit). The advertiser reports each one in the postback with goal=<code>; without goal, the offer's main event is counted. One click can produce one conversion per goal.

Good to know

  • New rules apply to future conversions. Conversions already recorded keep their values.
  • Click caps are counted in real time by the tracker, so they also work at high volumes.
  • Advanced caps and payout rules are available from the Starter plan.
