Click ID

A click ID is the unique identifier the tracking platform gives each click, which the advertiser sends back with the conversion to attribute it.

A click ID is a unique identifier created for every click on a tracking link. It's what links a conversion back to the click, and therefore to the affiliate who sent it.

How it travels

  1. The visitor clicks the affiliate's link.
  2. The network records the click and sends the visitor to the offer with the click ID in the address (for example ?clickid=01JCW7…).
  3. The advertiser stores it with the order or account.
  4. When the conversion happens, the advertiser sends it back in the postback.

If the click ID gets lost on the way (a redirect that drops parameters, a form that doesn't keep it), the conversion can't be attributed.

In Rastro

Add the {click_id} macro to the offer's destination URL. Rastro's click IDs are recognised even with a prefix, as in iGaming btag values.
