Sub ID
A sub ID is an extra parameter an affiliate adds to a tracking link to label traffic sources, campaigns or creatives in the reports.
A sub ID is a free parameter an affiliate adds to a tracking link to label their traffic: the source, the campaign, the ad, the keyword. For example ?sub1=facebook&sub2=video_3.
Why affiliates use them
The network only knows that the click came from the affiliate. Sub IDs tell the affiliate which of their campaigns produced each conversion, so they can stop what doesn't pay and scale what does.
Affiliates who use their own tracker usually pass their tracker's click ID in a sub ID and receive it back in the affiliate postback.
In Rastro
Up to five sub IDs per click, plus UTM parameters, stored with every click and conversion. Reports can be grouped by sub1, sub2 and sub3. See tracking links.
