ROI (return on investment)

ROI measures how much profit a campaign returns for every euro spent: (revenue − cost) ÷ cost, as a percentage. A key number for media buyers.

ROI (return on investment) tells you whether a campaign makes or loses money. The formula is (revenue − cost) ÷ cost × 100.

A media buyer spends 1 000 € on ads and earns 1 300 € in affiliate commissions. The ROI is (1 300 − 1 000) ÷ 1 000 = 30%. An ROI below 0% means the campaign is losing money.

ROI vs ROAS

ROAS (return on ad spend) is simply revenue ÷ cost: the same campaign has a ROAS of 1.3, or 130%. ROAS shows how much comes back; ROI shows the profit.

How affiliates use it

Affiliates who buy traffic compare the EPC of an offer with their cost per click. If they pay 0.10 € per click and the offer's EPC is 0.13 €, the expected ROI is 30%. They follow ROI per source, campaign and creative with sub IDs.

In RastroAff

RastroAff shows earnings, EPC and conversion rate per offer, affiliate, country and sub ID. Affiliates who track costs in their own tracker (Keitaro, Binom, Voluum, RedTrack) receive every conversion by postback and calculate ROI there.
