Create an affiliate offer: model, payout, targeting and dates

Step by step to create an offer in RastroAff, from the destination URL to the payout, goals, landing pages, countries, devices, caps and attribution window.

An offer (Campaigns in the dashboard) is what affiliates promote: a destination, what the brand pays and what the affiliate earns.

1. The basics

  • Name and advertiser.
  • Destination URL: the page the visitor goes to. You can use macros such as {click_id}, {affiliate_id}, {sub1} to {sub5}, {source} and the utm_* ones. {click_id} is what the brand sends back in the postback.
  • Description: traffic rules, allowed creatives, what counts as a conversion.

2. Model and amounts

  • CPA, CPL, CPS or CPC: per action, per lead, per sale or per click. With CPS you can use a percentage of the sale.
  • Charged to the advertiser and paid to the affiliate: the difference is the network's margin. The payout can't be higher than the amount charged.
  • The offer's currency.

To pay different amounts per affiliate, country or goal, see caps and payout rules.

3. Targeting and limits

  • Accepted countries, devices and operating systems. Empty: all.
  • Daily cap and monthly cap on conversions.
  • Start and end: the offer activates and ends on its own on those dates.
  • Attribution window: how long after the click a conversion still counts. Empty: 30 days. Offers with free trials or long sales cycles may need 60 to 90.
  • Extra parameters on the destination, one per line (e.g. aff={affiliate_id}).
  • Deep links: let affiliates send traffic to other pages of the advertiser, only on the domains you list.

4. After creating it

On the offer's page:

  • Goals: registration, first deposit, sale… each with its own code and amounts. The brand sends the code in the postback.
  • Landing pages: several destination pages; the affiliate picks one in the link.
  • Creatives for affiliates to download: see creatives.
  • Coupons, if the brand attributes sales by code.

Statuses

Draft, in review, active, paused and expired. An offer created by an advertiser stays in review until the team activates it. To decide who can promote it, see offer access.
