Last-click attribution

Last-click attribution gives the whole conversion to the last affiliate link the customer clicked before buying. It is the default in affiliate marketing.

Attribution decides which affiliate gets credit for a conversion. With last-click attribution, the affiliate whose link was clicked last before the conversion gets the full commission, even if other affiliates sent the same customer earlier.

Why it is the default

It is simple and easy to check: each conversion carries one click ID, and that click belongs to one affiliate. Advertisers use the same logic in their own systems, so the numbers match.

Its limits

Affiliates who introduce a customer early (content and comparison sites) can lose the sale to coupon or cashback sites that appear at the end. Some programmes protect them with first-click rules, or pay a share to each step.

Attribution window

A conversion only counts if it happens within a set time after the click, for example 30 days. After that, the click no longer earns a commission.

Coupons

A coupon code can attribute a sale to an affiliate without any click, such as an influencer's code mentioned in a video or podcast.

In RastroAff

Conversions are attributed to the click whose click ID the advertiser sends in the postback. Sales can also be attributed by coupon code.
