Revenue share (revshare)
Revenue share is a commission model where the affiliate earns a percentage of the revenue their referred customers generate over time.
Revenue share (revshare) pays the affiliate a percentage of the revenue their referred customers generate, usually every month and for as long as those customers stay active.
It's the dominant model in iGaming, where the affiliate earns a share of each player's NGR (net gaming revenue), and common in SaaS and subscriptions.
Revshare, CPA or hybrid
- CPA: a fixed amount once, paid quickly. Less risk for the affiliate.
- Revshare: smaller amounts, but recurring. Rewards bringing high-value customers.
- Hybrid: a smaller CPA plus a smaller revshare.
Negative carryover
When a month's revenue is negative (for example, players win more than they lose), some deals carry the negative amount into the following months. Others reset it to zero each month.
