CPM to CPC calculator: cost per click from CPM and CTR
Enter the CPM you pay and your click-through rate. Add the offer's EPC to see whether the traffic should be profitable.
- Cost per click
- €0.40
- Clicks per 1 000 impressions
- 5
- Expected ROI
- 25%
How it works
The formula
CPC = CPM ÷ (1 000 × CTR). At a 2 € CPM and a 0.5% CTR, 1 000 impressions bring 5 clicks, so each click costs 0.40 €.
Expected ROI
Expected ROI = (EPC − CPC) ÷ CPC. If the offer earns 0.50 € per click and the click costs 0.40 €, the expected ROI is 25%.
Before you scale
CTR and EPC both move when you change creatives, placements or countries. Test with a small budget and recalculate with your real numbers.
Frequently asked questions
Is CPM traffic good for affiliate offers?
It can be, if the CTR and the offer's EPC are high enough. Push, pop and native networks often sell by CPM, and many media buyers run them on CPA offers.
What CTR should I use?
Use the CTR you measured in a test campaign on the same source and format. Benchmarks from other sources are rarely accurate.
Why is my real cost per click different?
Bots and accidental clicks inflate CTR, and some sources count clicks differently. Compare the source's clicks with the clicks your tracker records.
