How it works
The formula
ROI = (revenue − cost) ÷ cost × 100. ROAS = revenue ÷ cost. A campaign that costs 1 000 € and earns 1 300 € has a 30% ROI and a ROAS of 1.3.
ROI or ROAS?
ROAS shows how much comes back for each euro spent; ROI shows the profit after paying for the traffic. A ROAS below 1 always means a negative ROI.
Where to use it
Media buyers check ROI per traffic source, campaign and creative, using sub IDs to know which one produced each conversion. Cut what has a negative ROI and scale what is positive.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good ROI for affiliate campaigns?
It depends on the traffic source and how stable it is. Many media buyers aim for 20–50% on stable campaigns and accept lower ROI while testing.
Should I include fees and tools in the cost?
Yes, for a true picture: tracker, spy tools, creatives and payment fees are all part of the cost of a campaign.
Why is my ROI different from the network's report?
The network only sees earnings. Your cost comes from the traffic source, so ROI is calculated on your side or in your own tracker.
