Payout
The payout is the amount an affiliate earns for each conversion, or the share of revenue they receive, set per offer, per country or per affiliate.
The payout is what the affiliate earns. In a CPA offer it is a fixed amount per conversion; in a revshare deal it is a percentage of the revenue the customer generates. The word is also used for the actual payment sent to the affiliate at the end of a period.
Payout vs revenue
For a network, every conversion has two values: the revenue charged to the advertiser and the payout paid to the affiliate. The difference is the network's margin.
| Value | |
|---|---|
| Revenue (the advertiser pays) | 50 € |
| Payout (the affiliate earns) | 40 € |
| Network margin | 10 € |
What changes the payout
- Country or device: traffic from some countries is worth more.
- Goal: a registration can pay 2 € and a first deposit 40 €.
- Volume: affiliates who send more can move up to a higher tier.
- Private deals: a top affiliate may have their own payout on an offer.
