Tiered revshare in iGaming: by FTD or by NGR, with examples

How revshare tiers work in casino and sportsbook affiliate programs, the difference between measuring by FTD and by NGR, and what to check in the deal.

Updated on 6 Nov 2026

In a flat revshare deal, the affiliate always gets the same percentage of NGR. With tiers, the percentage goes up when the affiliate brings more volume in the month. It is the most common way operators reward their best partners without negotiating each deal.

Two ways to measure the tier

  • By FTD: counts players with a first deposit (FTD) in the month. It rewards affiliates who bring new players, even while NGR is still low.
  • By NGR: uses the month's NGR. It rewards affiliates whose players play a lot, but one month with a big winner can drop the tier.

An example by FTD

FTD in the month Revshare
0 to 10 25%
11 to 30 30%
31 or more 35%

An affiliate with 18 FTD and €10,000 of NGR lands in the second tier: 30% of €10,000 = €3,000.

Does the % apply to the whole month or only above the threshold?

In most programs, the percentage of the tier reached applies to the whole month's NGR. Some operators pay each tier only on the part that falls inside it, which pays the affiliate less. Check which rule applies before signing.

What to check in the deal

  • Measure: FTD or NGR, and whether NGR is before or after deductions.
  • Period: do tiers reset every month or accumulate?
  • Per brand or in total: does volume across an operator's brands add up?
  • Carryover: with negative carryover, a negative month can cancel the gain from the tier.

In RastroAff

Each commission deal can have tiers measured by FTD or by the month's NGR after deductions. The percentage of the tier reached applies to the whole month, and below the first tier the base percentage applies. Each month's detail shows the value that decided the tier.
