How to launch an iGaming affiliate program for a casino or sportsbook
Launch an iGaming affiliate program step by step: commission models, tracking registrations and first deposits, CRM reports, fraud, payouts and marketing rules.

Affiliates bring a large share of new players to online casinos and sportsbooks. A good program pays fairly, tracks every player from click to deposit, and keeps fraud and non-compliant traffic out. These are the steps an operator, or a network working with operators, goes through.
1. Set the rules before the first affiliate
- Markets: only accept traffic from countries where the brand is licensed.
- Marketing rules: what affiliates may not do (target minors, promise guaranteed wins, bid on your brand, use spam). Put them in the terms affiliates accept.
- Traffic types: allowed sources, and whether incentivized traffic is banned (it almost always is).
2. Choose the commission models
| Model | How it pays | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| CPA with a baseline | A fixed amount per FTD, only if the player deposits at least the baseline | Media buyers, new affiliates |
| Revshare on NGR | A share of each player's NGR, every month | Content and SEO sites |
| Hybrid | A lower CPA plus a lower revshare | Proven affiliates |
Decide upfront whether revshare uses negative carryover, and how long a player counts for the affiliate. Use the CPA vs revshare calculator to test offers before publishing them.
3. Track registrations and first deposits
Pass the click ID to the brand on every click and ask the platform or CRM to send each event by postback: registration and first deposit as separate goals, each with its own payout. Include the player's country, so a mismatch with the click's country can be flagged.
4. Bring in the player value
Revshare needs deposits and NGR per player, which live in the brand's CRM. Import the CRM reports every month (or every day), matched to affiliates by click ID, so you can see the value of each affiliate's players and calculate commissions. See player value and revshare.
5. Fight iGaming fraud
- Multiple accounts from the same device or IP, to collect bonuses or CPAs.
- FTDs seconds after the click, or a click country different from the player's country.
- Players who deposit the baseline and never play again.
Hold CPAs for review when signals appear, and claw back reversed conversions. See fraud protection.
6. Pay on time, every month
Close the month, approve the commissions, then pay. Affiliates should see their players' value and their balance in their own portal, so payment day brings no surprises. See affiliate payouts.
